Mishy:
I sent two shipments of tiles from PA to CA without mishap by using the box
from the original bisqued tiles, cushioning each tile with packing material.
Even that very thin stuff works. I made sure there was no movement from the
tiles before sealing that box and placing it into a larger box. The tile box
was surrounded by at least 8 inches of packing peanuts in the outside box. If
your tiles are handmade, obviously you won't have a box that fits precisely,
but as long as you have no jiggle possibility and allow plenty of cushion
between the interior and exterior boxes, your tiles should be secure.
Good luck,
Margo
