another question about propane vs woodstoves

How are the propane fumes exhausted? Do you have to open a window?

I constantly struggle with heating in my 14' x 23' studio in Northern
Michigan. My woodstove lets of some kind of fumes- can't figure it out. The
chmney is fine, and I open a nearby window, but always end up coughing after
an hour or so. Smells like burning paint, but how could I get that time
after time, when I have had that stove cranked up to 1000+? I am intrigued
by propane, but cautious about the fumes. Thanks- Marian
