This is what I have referred to in several Clayart posts. It is an referred
to in catalogs as an abrasive flap wheel, and is simply a wheel composed of
strips of heavy-duty emery cloth, mounted on a central mandrel. You can get
small ones to fit in a drill chuck, but the best ones fit on one end of your
bench grinder in place of one of the grinding stones. They are available
through the Grainger's catalog, or from any business that sells industrial
abrasive supplies. Sometimes good welding-supply shops have them. They are
the best thing there is for giving a satin-smooth finish on the bottoms of
pots.
