Thank you to those clayarters who've said that my simplistic statement
(purposely so, I hasten to add) has helped in writing their own.
Now....another clayarter pointed out that "a craftsman IS an artist; but
an artist is not necessarily a craftsman" (paraphrasing, but it's
close). I've been comfortable distinguishing between myself and those
of you who are artists. Now I'm beginning to second guess myself. Not
that it will matter on my statement because it's written for interested
non-potters to whom such a distinction isn't significant ... been in
that boat, myself. But this clayarter's reminder is timely for me
for it has the ring of clarity and clarity/truth are very important in
my life ...... but then I'm also easily influenced by whichever potter
I've spoken with last.
