Hi,
I'm sure this has been discussed at some time but I couldn't find it in the
archives. What is the proper way to dispose of glazes? Leave them to dry out like
paint, and throw them away? Does it make a difference if there is lead or other
toxins or not?
Thanks
Cindi

Hi,
I can't remember who said this but it is far the best idea I've heard
yet. Put the throw away glace in a bowl, fire it and send it to the
dump. Mike Gordon

I was told the only truly environmentally safe way to dispose of glazes is to
fire them to cone before throwing them away. The thought of doing this with
any quantity is awe inducing. Small amounts could be put in a bisque bowl I
would guess. The "mystery" glaze bucket is my only solution. Not perfect
but acceptable for flowerpots and surface splashes here and there. This is a
good question.
I'm on my way to Laloba tomorrow for a week so will miss some answers. Oh,
the sacrifices! I am quite excited about this trip. Much to do to be on the
way. Will report upon my return. Meanwhile, best to you all. Keep good
notes.
