It's a clay day!!

Does anyone have the conversion factor for manganese dioxide to =
manganese carbonate?

Thank you,

If you have a computer, you should have a glaze program such as GlazeChem.
It will do conversions, substitutions, and recalculations for quantity.

Dear Mary,

To convert Manganese dioxide and Manganese carbonate apply these
coefficients :

1 part of Manganese dioxide =3D 1=2E327 part of Manganese carbonate
and
1 part of Manganese carbonate =3D 0=2E754 part of manganese dioxide

Hello all,

>From our friend Smart:

For manganese :

100 g of Manganese Carbonate (MnCO3) gives 61,74 g of MnO (Manganese basi=
c
oxide)
100 g of Manganese dioxide (MnO2) gives 89,87 g of MnO (Manganese basic
oxide)
Manganese basic oxyde is what you need in your glaze.

You can substitute 1 part of Manganese dioxide by 1,456 part of Manganese
carbonate.
And if you reverse the calculation,
You can substitute 1 part of Manganese carbonate by 0,687 part of Mangane=
se
dioxide.
