as a chief proponent of flat top kilns of the nils lou design
i must repeat.

it is a great kiln...i have four of them and they all work
like magic.

of course, there are those out there that could not fire
a kiln if you walked them through it 4 times a day.

and of course, they will blame the kiln.

so much of firing is the person at the helm.
look, listen, smell, hear...then think.
experience helps.
if things are not going well.....well, change something.
often less gas or fuel is the answer. (or more)
or, as nils has said many times...add a foot of stack, or take one off.
but, do something.

Sorry Mel, but I'm one of those that will blame the kiln. I see this problem
on a regular basis and it's not always operator error. Those of you out there
with MFT problems, take heart....it may not be your fault.
