I have a glaze recipe from H. Black that I have used successfully. It is
for cone 9 to 10, perhaps you can adjust it for a cone 6 firing by
substituting Neph Syenite for the felspar. I tried it with silicon carbide
100 mesh and it did not work. It needs silicon carbide FFF grade.From my
notes I also see that I used this glaze over other glazes and fired to cone
8 to 9 Here is the recipe:
H Black Lava Glaze cone 9 to 10
Potash spar 53.00
China clay l4.0
Silica 14.1
whiting 25.5
titanium oxide l2.0
silicon carbide fff 0.4
bentonite 1%
