A contemporary and friend of Joan Mir=F3 (whose ceramics are featured at =
the
Gardiner Museum in Toronto till January 7, 2001), Pablo Picasso made over
3,000 ceramics during his lifetime. Ceramic artist L=E9opold Foulem, an
authority on Picasso ceramics, will analyze and assess the clay work of t=
his
20th-century master, arguing that Picasso was a great ceramic artist as w=
ell
as a major figure of this last century.

L=E9opold Foulem is an internationally respected ceramic artist with more=
than
20 solo exhibitions to his credit. His work can be seen in select private
and public collections around the world, including at the Gardiner. Often
controversial and always forward thinking, Foulem=92s lectures have earne=
d him
further credibility here and abroad.
