Hi Nils, I'm a bit confused. You say to spray the elements, dry, them, put
them back and THEN spray everything with ITC 100. If I spray the ITC100 with
the elements back in place, won't that prevent the ITC 100 from hitting all
the firebrick behind the elements?
My plan was to remove the elements, spray the bricks lightly with water (I've
done ITC before:-), then do a light spray of the diluted ITC100, then dip
the coils in the ITC 213, figure out a way to dry them (you've now told me
how), and reinstall them. Can I do it this way and then put another light
coating of ITC 100 over everything and finish with another thin coating of
296A or is the reason for spray the 100 after you reinstall the elements is
to avoid too thick a coat????

Thanks!
June

June, You raised an important point--a light spray of water is recommended
before spraying the ITC100. And, of course the 100 can be applied while
the elements are out, but it is not imperative to have the grooves coated,
just preferable. Sorry for the confusion. The main thing, is that the only
critical thing is to not apply too thickly--this is where folks have had
problems. Let us know how it all works out for you. cheers, Nils
