ridding local clay of lime specs

I would suggest that when ridding a local or raw dug clay of
Lime/Calcium specs which are causing spitout..it is necessary
to remove all particles which will not flux into the body.
If any specs are visible to the eye then they are too large
and must be removed. I have found that fabric..nylon..or
whatever is not as satisfactory as a metal sieve. Use as fine
a screen as tests prove is removing the offending specs.
If you need to brush through the screen, then sieve again with=20
only tapping or bumping the screen. Unfortunately you may=20
remove some fine sand etc which you would wish to retain
in the body..but that is the price you must pay.
