The Eden Project, Cornwall
A world class project which demonstrates and explores the relationship
between plant and humans will be opening in May 2001. Two controlled
environment plant conservatories, called Biomes are being built in a
reclaimed china clay pit near St Austell in Cornwall. One will recreate the
climate of the Humid Tropics and the other will recreate a warm temperate
climate. The Visitor Centre explains the importance of conservation,
bio-diversity and sustainable development of our environment. Preview
visits are currently available until November 5th 2000.

sorry - only seen a few shots on TV - interviews, the like. There was a
short piece on how they selected and transported a very old olive tree -
that did look promising.
I've a better idea - come to Cornwall anyway - it's a magnificent place. If
this thing is open by then, and good, then you have a bonus.
