Will - I was given the above but with 100 zircopax instead of 300 as a base
clear glaze. I have run a few tests with it, and added some cobalt & copper
and some Mason stains & it was a very glossy non-crazing glaze on Highwater
P5 porcelain at cone 6. The potter I received this from uses this as his
only glaze base. I am not going any further with my tests as it uses GB.

What exactly did you find so alarming about this mixture?

yes...


our teacher lloyd baskerville, at carmel high school, carmel, calif., used this
base clear glaze formula for some 15 years. It was always successful for his high
school program.


he got the recipe from hal reiger
