The Salem Art Association and the M. T. Sherman Ceramic Center are proud to
announce that Jim Koudelka will be presenting a workshop Oct, 20-22 titled,
"A Layered Approach." This workshop will focus on the many varied layers of
techniques, material and ideas that are a part of Jim's creative process. He
will start with a slide presentation showing the history and development of
his sculptural and vessel oriented work. Demonstrations will then focus on
the basics of making and working with latex and plaster molds for press
molding or slip casting. Jim will show some of the ways that he uses these
molds in conjunction with thrown and handbuilt parts to create more complex,
diverse and interesting pieces.
