Rafael-

If you are asking if the books are worth a read: MOST
DEFINITELY! Yes. They are unique in a day and age when
most books are really starting to seem the same. Pye's
language is sometimes obfuscating, other times
absolutely lucid.

As to whether or not they should be used as a class
textbook...Depends on the students. John Neely
recommended both books to his grad students while I
was at USU (and probably has ever since he started
teaching!) I know that very few students ever read
more than what is passed out as photocopies, but for
those of us who do.... well, suffice to say it can
provide some real insight.

Good luck and enjoy.

I read "The Nature and Art of Workmanship" some
years ago, so my recollection is a little vague,
but I recall it being a thoughtful and thought-
provoking consideration of craft in the very
broadest sense (not just art). In fact, it was
recommended to me by a machinist! I believe it
to be well worth reading, and quite readable.
