Does anyone have or know of a recipe for throwing larger(not huge) thin
pieces? I'm looking for something that can be be thin but still have some
strength to be manipulated.

The best claybody, by far, that I've ever used for throwing
thin large pieces is made by Blackjack Clay Co. in Murchison,
Texas. It is extremely plastic and strong, for manipulation
after throwing.
There is no recipe for the body, because they mine all their
own clays and sell it as a blunged and filter-pressed plastic
claybody.
You can read about the production of Blackjack clay in the
current issue of Ceramics Monthly, page 100.
Their phone # is 903-469-3322.
