I have been trying to throw plates using Pure & Simple Bat Molds. The
plates crack before they are released from the mold. I am leaving them to
dry covered in plastic over night. As they are of uniform thickness I do
not think that was the problem. Any ideas on what is causing the problem?

What are you using as a separating agent? They may be catching as they
shrink. I use talc with my sculptures, just lightly dusted with a cloth bag
containing the talc. Breathing mask of course. I don't know how the Talc
would effect the glaze.
