hi jane
there is a new book published 1999 titled "chinese glazes", by Nigel Woods,
published in GB 1999, and in USA 1999 by University of Pennslvania Press, ISBN 0
8122 3476 6
the book is about chinese glazes: their origins, chemistry, and re-creation. It
covers a time span from 6500 bc to 1949 ad, from the neolithic to present and gives
detailed chemical analysis, and recipes to re-construct the glazes, including an
entire chapter on celadons
i found it in the science library at my alumni school university california santa
cruz, earlier this year. i am impressed by it, and have already benefited from it,
in making a human bone ash blue celadon glaze for my upcoming workshop.
