Joyce A,
My hubby, who is the one at Ft. Hood, will definitely check out the base
ceramics shop, low fire work is fine, certainly better than no fire work.
I'm really excited about your response, as "ceramic shops" might be a
solution for both of us and we had forgotten them as an option. I'm staying
near Ft. Benning, which unfortunately has sold all of its ceramic equipment
over the past 8 years, and am in need of some alternatives for firing, a void
which might well be filled by a local ceramics shop. Necessity is the best
way to force me to expand and has already opened up the world of terre sig
and "smoked pots." Unfortunately, the woods behind our house are too dry and
until the drought is truely broken, I won't be lighting anything here.
Low fire sounds great, no clay does not. I quit throwing for the past
year and was miserable, it is time to branch out and find options.
Thank you,
B'racha
