Carrie or Peter Jacobson on sat 21 oct 00

Hi all: Does anyone know when conferences/seminars/stuff to do around NCECA
starts? If we arrived Wednesday, would things be going on? Or does it all
really start on the Friday?

Thanks,

Carrie Jacobson

Dear Carrie
It really does start
Wednesday, and I suggest that
people arrive Tuesday Night.
If
you would like to see LAST
YEARS conference schedule, you
can go to
http://eve2.tamucc.edu/~nceca/schedule00.html
where it is archived.
The last official item on the
conference is the board
meeting early in the
afternoon on Tuesday although
I think there will also be bus
tours that
afternoon. Usually by Early
Sunday morning everyone is
gone. If you arrive on
friday you will miss most of
the conference. IMHO NCECA is
a lot of fun, and very
worthwhile.

If you visit the NCECA wesite
at http://nceca.net make sure
you see:

for some information on the
2001 conference

I just wanted you to know that if you want to do the tours at NCECA (the long
ones) you will probably need to get the tickets early as they usually sell
out by the time of the conference ..or this was the case last year.

Have a great time!!!

Lesley,

Membership with NCECA is part of the registration fee. Included for the
year.

Does anyone know, is membership in NCECA required for those who want to
register? Nowhere is it stated that it is required. A friend is
accompanying me who is only a semi-ceramicist and also has health
problems, and would like to keep that $70.00....... Lesley

Have your friend get some day passes. I think that may be the way for
her to go.
Looking foward to some sunshine and warm weather!!! from Montana

laura,
i think if you buy the bundle ticket the friday night dance is included with
it, otherwise you have to buy it separately for $15 and than it adds up to
$180.
so, decide if you wanna dance...

Regular fee includes Annual membership in the
organization, newsletters, directories and other
publications. Day passes if I'm not mistaken only
allow entrance into the conference but do not include
membership or the mailings. I think.

I went to NCECA in Kansas City and had a friend who had no clay background
come along. We got him a ticket one day and at that time, you could only
buy an individual ticket the day before the day it is good for. Which means
you will stand in line everyday. Also, don't think the day passes include
some of the membership fees that will entitle you to a full NCECA
membership.
I could stand corrected on the latter tho.

Best Regards

I'm so excited that NCECA is right next door to me (I'm a Cincinnati potter),
but I'm a little confused and hope that someone who has been to a show before
can help me understand something.

I think I understand that the fee for the whole conference for a non-student
from the US is $180 if I get it sent in in time, etc. Then I read that the
daily fees are $35 for Wednesday, $60 for Thursday and Friday each, and $10 for
Saturday. That adds up to $165.

So the question is, does anyone know of an advantage to buying the bundle
ticket rather than the individual day tickets?

Dear Laura,
Maybe the difference is the annual membership which would include newsletters
and the conference Journal and directory.
I am not sure though.

Hello! I have been lurking here for a few weeks reading all the great
advice and discussions.

I am new to pottery. I just finished a class at a local studio, and will be
starting the next class this week.

I'd was reading about the NCECA conference and since I live fairly close to
Louisville, I was wondering if I could go to the exhibits? Are these open to
the public?

Thanks,
Leigh

You can find out everything from "NCECA Office"

Here is a link to their registration form so that you can see the
prices for everything.
I hope this helps
Thanks
