thanks to all that tried to help.
found out how to fix it. (so, will share.)
went to control panel
appearances,
changed the entire `scheme` of my computer.
went to teal.
apply.
and back came the black cursor.
i have no idea why the system changed on me, but
that is windows....an adventure a day.
(now, don't start whining about macs to me...cannot
change now.)
