Dear Clayarters, Don't miss the October issue of Pottery Making Illustrated.
So many of our "own" have contributed to make it an excellent resource. Guess
who made the tea bowl used for the cover photo along with a terrific fact
filled article? ( If you guessed Mel, you are right!) There are also great
articles by Ivor, Dannon, and Jeff Zamek to drop a few more familiar names.
We are so lucky to have this connection. In case they were all too modest to
toot their own horns, I did it for them. Forgive me if I left someone out,
but I wanted to get this in while its my "turn" at the computer. And yes, my
next project is tea bowls. Wonder where I got that idea? Toni Smith in
Ohio knee deep in leaves, sorry to see the colors fading.

As I read this issue, I chuckled to myself, thinking it ought to be renamed
"Clayart Magazine!" It was indeed a wonderful issue!

Chuck, To order Pottery Making Illustrated, you can access info on
www.ceramics.org and click on publications and then order. Its worth it. I
never had an issue that I didn't learn from and you want to keep them for
reference later. Toni Smith

Hi all -
I have started writing the column " Down to Business" and would like to
let my clayart buds know that I would welcome any questions, suggestions or
feedback.
From my years on the list I know that our community includes potters
from all backgrounds and at all skill levels. It always reminds me that we
are all coming to it from vastly different experiences. I could not possibly
consider the business aspect from all of your perspectives without a nudge
now and then.
I really enjoy all aspects of marketing and hope that I can pass some of
the fun on to others.
Chris Campbell - in North Carolina - looking forward to meeting you at NCECA
