Whatever happened with the Functional Show to be juried by Linda
Christenson? I sent my particulars; but no response as yet. Is this show

Yes, the 9th Annual Strictly Functional Pottery National is definitely
alive and well! The applications should be in the mail any day now. There
was a glitch at the printer, but as far as I know, they should be ready
very soon. The entry deadline is January 16. The exhibition will open on
April 6 and close June 3. Linda will jury the slides and will come to
Lancaster, PA to jury the pieces to receive awards. She will also be giving
a one day demo workshop on Saturday, April 7.
I am in California at the moment and don't have the specifics with me for
more information. But if you want the application in a hurry, send an SASE

If you have been in the show before, you should receive an application by
bulk mail. If you have moved, bulk mail does not get forwarded.
This show is held at the Lancaster Museum of Art in Lancaster,
Pennsylvania. We have a different nationally known juror every year. Entry
is open to all residents of the 50 United States, and does have some size
and weight restrictions. All pieces must be for sale, with a maximum price
of $600 (due to insurance reasons.) We take full responsibility for the
pieces after they arrive at the museum. Insurance and cost for shipping is
the responsibility of the exhibitors. You may enter three pieces (only one
slide per piece) for the entry fee of $20.
Just one little hint: Make SURE your slides are really good!! The slides we
get are mostly pretty good, so a good slide will increase your chances of
getting into the show.
One more tiny little hint: This is a FUNCTIONAL show... duh. (But
functional does not have to be boring...)
