Those tea pots are supposed to develop a patina over time and use.
The one you buy "new" sohuld not look interesting at all except for
the design of the pot. It is your interaction with the burnished =
clay over time and tea that will affect the color.
If it has cold finishes or any color other than the clay color on the =
inside, in my opinion, it is not authentic. I got mine in Beijing two
years ago and it is working towards an interesting color. It is not =
there yet.
buyer beware indeed.
