i have made many, in fact anything you can wrap around
a small dowel rod, wrapped tight with duct tape will work.

the list is far too long.

golden retriever hair
human hair (get someone to hold the woman with long hair)
feathers
small twigs of green trees
wire
horse tail
skunk tail
string
anything that makes a nice mark. the more things you
try, the more interesting the patterns that are invented.

a brush in the most simple term:

a stick with loose stuff tied to one end.
dip it in something interesting and smear it
around on something else. (called painting)

experiment. this has no rule.
i have seen japanese brushes the size of a floor mop.
(in fact a floor mop would make a great brush..hmmm.
on a mongo pot. hey, we could put kurt up on the silo
(do a one eyed painting) take one of our small sapling trees,
cut it down, add a mop head....man, it is endless. have
to do that at hay creek this year.
mel
just made a wonderful brush (large) from a horses tail.
now my feet are cold from dashing to the studio bare footed.
and it is 4 a.m. 39 f. (and the horse is pissed off)

(Note to self: avoid mel jacobsen if rakuing or pitfiring. Also, keep dog inside)
