I am considering purchasing an extruder and have been reading about them,
trying to gain insight. However, I think feedback from the Clayart list
members will be my biggest help. So, a couple of my questions are: do you
prefer the square or round barrel? Do you have favorite brands? Any tips you
all have would be so much appreciated.
Thanking you in advance,
Dolly in Michigan

Dolly, if you have or intend to get a pug mill, then it saves time to have
the extruder taking the same shape and size as the pug extrudes.

OR you can add the extruder plates to the pug, although some manufacturers
recommend against it.

I have a 20 year old Bailey at home. I love it even though it is a
little awkward to change the dies. I think they improved the mechanism
for changing dies. Also have used the Northstar at school. It is about
the same method as the bailey for screwing the dies in place.
The Scott Creek looks like the best for a simple way of changing dies. I
have never used one though.
