Nepheline Syenite 44
Gerstley Borate 12

Lithium Carb 6

Add:
Titanium Dioxide 11=25
Copper Carb 6=25

This glaze is great. It=92s listed in VC=92s book as
=5E6-9. I fired it to=
=5E6
oxidation. It is a semi-mat, dark emerald green, that
in sunlight, slightly
shimmers. I, by mistake, once took it to =5E7, and it
lost the shimmer, but
because it boiled and I soaked for a long time trying
to get rid of the
blisters, it got a really nice =93ostrich skin=94 look
to it. That was a
mistake, however, and I doubt I could repeat it.

Hi Anji,

Just a caution. This glaze will be very unstable. It is very low in
silica and very high in copper. Please don't use it on functional work
without thorough testing. I predict it will leach at least 50 mg/l of
copper. I will bet it will badly fail the vinegar test.

Regards, John
