Is it safe to say that any device that moves air in the studio is
basically not good - be it heating unit, exhaust fan or even air
cleaners, since they make clay particles airborne? Seems to me the
only safe way to clean the studio is with water. What about a vacuum
with the unit outside and only the hose inside?

Hi Joyce,
I think you stated it pretty well. Per an earlier post I think a vacuum
with the blower exhausting outside is OK as an alternative to wet
cleaning. Of course the other important factor is good "clean-as-you-go"
practices so dust never accumulates. I always try to work with a damp
sponge close at hand.
