Dear Neville Longbottom,

I suspect the ancients added nothing special to their glazes to get =
those delicate pale celadon greens and blues. A 6*6 test tile fired last =
week gave me gradations of transparent blue green on six of the samples. =
I would be loathe to call them Celadon as it was not my intention to =
imitate this style of glaze. They were also the ones which also gave the =
unaccountable gas inclusions which I have difficulty in explaining. But =
I think the colour came from iron contamination, presumably natural, =
present in the talc.

Main supplier of Cobalt was the Zaire, with Deloro in Canada a close =
second and Australia a runner up.=20
