I was told by a potter at a craft fair that I might be able
to get the recipe for Cobeldi's Floating Blue in this chat
group. I have been using the regular Floating Blue recipe
and find it leaves gaps on the pots in random places. Does
anybody have it? Thanks, Judy Duboff

Hi Judy,
The Cobbeldi Floating Blue recipe I have is labeled "Revision 1" and was
posted on March 31, 1998. I've tested it and had problems with crawling and
color separation. Maybe you will do better.
Neph Sy 43.26
EPK 13.67
Frit 3134 32.81
Flint 10.26
RIO 2
Cobalt Carb 1.5
Rutile 4
Epsom Salts 2
I'm presently using a slight modification of the above with considerably
more consistent results than I had with the standard GB recipe. The only
difference I make is in sub'ing 2% Bentonite for the epsom salt, adding CMC
(1tsp./100 grams), and using 1% Cobalt Ox. instead of the above Cobalt Carb.
Good luck,
David Gordon
