manganese dioxide in glazes

Anyone who has seen the pots of Steve Hill with
the manganese saturated crystalline glaze will
understand how difficult it would be to quit
using that glaze. For me it was the single most
beautiful glaze I have seen and a closely
guarded secret for Mr Hill.
He no longer uses that glaze because of safety
concerns raised by the Studio Potter article
about David Shaner.
Be safe.
