Hello all,
I'm new to the list and have decided to make my first posting a call for help. My undergrad ceramics class is looking for a basic raku glaze. I have a few that work for me and have come up with a nice glossy copper for the class; but I can't seem to find a nice crackled white/clear that works. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
MIke

If it's of any interest, my favourite base Glaze for Raku, not based on
Gerstley Borate, uses 80 part by weight of High Alkaline Fritt, and
fifteen parts of China Clay. To this add five per cent of tin oxide (a
further 1% of Bentonite also stops it settling like concrete at the
bottom of the bucket). This doesn't give you a dead white, but the
result has a softness which I find very seductive, on my clays it also
crackles very nicely.
