Many commercial stains contain manganese, and I have been wondering if the
processing of these stains would have any effect on the exposure risk from
manganese dust.
I realized I don't actually know how they are made. Are they fritted and
ground, or calcined and milled? Would manganese be less of a threat
included in a stain or the same as the dust from powdered oxide or
carbonate. I am not thinking of fumes from the kiln, only inhaled dust.
Does anyone have any data on this?
Thank you,
Marni
