Dear Philip:
I tested most of my Cone 10 glazes for leaching when I was in graduate
school in 1988. They leached in a range from a few parts per million to
over 100 parts per million. If I could draw any broad conclusions from
that experience, and I know it is dangerous to generalize, matte glazes
leached more than satin or shiny, heavily colored glazes did also, and
glazes with larger amounts of barium also leached more.
