Dear Vivi,
Here in Brazil, we try to use our local mineral components to make aour
glazes, here we don't have frits. But anyway we have lot of minerals that
have the same composition of the north american frits and other components,
it's not very difficult to find them. We also have many distributors of
imported materials, but we prefer use brazilian materials in the most of
time. If you what, I can send you the name and fax of the places where we
buy our materials. Just asking: do you work with the ancient inca's
ceramics techniques os firing (sawdustfiring)?? 'Cause I'm really
interested in this technique. Anyway I'm very glad to talk with somebody
here in south america who loves pottery as I love! I'm looking for some
workshops here about ancient techniques of building pieces and firing, and
other interesting things...
