Hi Clayarters,
Happy Thanksgiving to you all. A few posts ago in the message there was a
reference to THIN KILN SHELVING WHICH WENT TO CONE 10. All of a sudden I am
in the tile business and even though my shelves look flat, there is a slight
downward movement on the corners. This transfers to the shape of my tiles.
I have looked in the archives and have not found the post. I would
appreciate hearing from anyone with that information. TIA
Cheers, Bonnie Staffel

Bonnie
I have a solution that you my like. I do a lot of porcelain so I am quite
concerned about warping.
I use cookies that I get from Acme Marls. That is an English company from
Stoke on Trent. These cookies are about 3/8" thick and come in a lot of
different sizes. I believe that you can get them from Highwater. If not let
me know and I'll get you a supplier.
I use Nitrite bonded Silicon Carbide shelves nowadays. They are expensive but
stay flat. I have some that are 5 years old and are fired every other day to
^10. They do not warp or break. They are thin, and lightweight. I use the
ones called Advancers.
The cookies are probably the cheapest way out.

Bonnie,
I believe the shelves you are looking for are called "Advancer" or "Crystar".
