Just a note...when I brush kiln wash on a
shelf, I place the brush on any interior part
of the shelf and the direction of the brush stroke
travels is out to the edge.
Think of pushing the material from the inside
to the edge of the shelf....
Not approaching the shelf from an outside edge
to the inside of the shelf.
This way no kiln wash accumulates on the edge of the
shelf which stay clean, and has crisp edges. This prevents
kiln wash from falling off.
I use the same process when washing glazes off
the bottom of pots, and I get a clean edge and have more
control. I.E. from the center to the edge.
