Original Works in Clay is excited to be hosting a five-day figurative
sculpture workshop with figurative installation artist, Nan
Smith, June 18-22nd, 2001.
The workshop, entitled "Body as Index: Life Casting and Latex Molds",
will be presented in a combination hands-on/demonstration format. You
may have seen Nan's demonstration at the Columbus NCECA and her life
size polychromed figure in "A Glimpse of the Invisible" the NCECA
invitational in Denver. Her sculpture recently appeared on the cover of
The Studio Potter and her studio methods were featured in the May 2000
issue of Ceramics Monthly.
The Original Works in Clay studio is located in Northern California
about 20 minutes east of Sacramento. The cost of the workshop is
$385.00 including materials. Reasonable lodging is located nearby and
limited camping is available.
