People who are interested in Salt or soda firing may find it is =
advantageous to use a high potash felspar in their clay or coloured =
slips. It will increase their chances of getting better surfaces.

Sodium compounds do not react readily with other sodium compounds and it =
is relatively easy to show that neither soda nor common salt vapours =
react readily with free silica as is often supposed.

A survey of recommended recipes for clays and slips will confirm this.
