No, no, no, no. You need a special CHAIR as the collection place for the
bowls. You could even auction it off as an installation piece. After all, who
wouldn't want to bid on the proverbial chair full of bowlies?

Ilene,

You wrote to the wrong Chris, but I don't mind, I'll answer anyway.
Yes, the Empty Bowls project is ON for NCECA. You can bring
your bowls with you if you like, or mail them ahead. We will have a
table in the nonprofit exhibitors area where you can bring them, or
drop them off in the Clayart room where we will have a box or table
or something set up to receive them. Studio Potter Network is also
supposed to be helping us collect bowls at the conference. If you
want your bowls to be considered for the pre-event exhibit at Spirit
Square, you need to mail them by March 15 to:

Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina
500-B Spratt St.
Charlotte, NC 28206

Thanks for your interest.

Just a reminder, for those who have been meaning to contribute a
bowl to the Just One Bowl event that will be held during NCECA. If
you won't be coming to the conference, now would be a great time
to mail your bowl to:

Empty Bowls
Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina
500B Spratt St
Charlotte, NC 28206

All kinds, shapes, sizes, etc, of bowls are welcome. Does not
have to be a functional soup bowl (but please mark if not food-safe).
Please give us a suggested retail price if over $15 value, as we will
be pricing bowls individually. Include a couple of business cards.

Thank you for your generosity, and for going ahead and sending
bowls now. My friends at the Food Bank are getting nervous that
they don't have enough bowls -- let's show them that potters
always come through!

For those who are coming to NCECA, we will have bowl drops in
the Clayart room in the Omni, and in the Studio Potter Network
room in the Adams Mark, as well as in the nonprofit exhibitor area
in the convention center. I'd love to get an email telling me that you
plan to donate a bowl, if I haven't already heard from you -- that will
help me reassure the Food Bank folks.

For anyone in Baltimore, or anywhere between Raleigh and
Baltimore, I will driving to the Baltimore area next weekend, and
would be delighted to pick up your bowls and take them back to
NC with me. Just email me off list. Thanks!!

Hi Chris,

Just a little reassurance. My husband John and I will be attending NCECA and
will drop off our bowls at one of the designated drop off centers. I think
he will be bringing at least 3 and I will bring one of my baskets with wooden
handles.

See you at NCECA.

OK, for all those who have heard enough of this, delete now.

For the rest, I've been urged to put the info out one more time.
Here's the short version:

Luncheon and sale on Friday, March 30 at St. Peters Episcopal
Church in Charlotte, NC

Proceeds to benefit the Food Bank that serves the Charlotte region

Mail bowls to: Empty Bowls, Second Harvest Food Bank of
Metrolina, 500-B Spratt St, Charlotte, NC 28206

or bring them to NCECA and drop off at:
Clayart room in the Omni
Studio Potter Network room in the Adams Mark
Triangle Potters Guild/Empty Bowls table in the Convention Center

Thank you, and feel free to email me off list if you want more
details.
