I unreservedly apologise, should have checked Hamer first, Strontium is
non-toxic. My confusion is with Strontium 90 which is, of course, radio
active. Incidentally, Hamer and Hamer recommend Strontium oxide as a
replacement for lead and strontium carbonate as replacement for whiting, but
point out strontium carbonate is much dearer.
