warping and wadding (was no subject)

Hi Joan,
using wadding to prevent warpping sounds like a good idea... I wish it
worked on my porcelain though. I've experienced warping when my work
has been wadded for high salt and woodfire. Granted, I've never
wadded for a straight high fire. I've had it suggested to me by
instructors (and it's been brought up on the list) to make little clay
disks- a footprint to match my work, and fire work on those, to help
prevent warping.

Cheers
Jocelyn
