This is not correct .. the cost of wholesalecrafts.com for one full year is
maybe a third of the cost of a booth in Philadelphia.

That does not even factor in your packing and unpacking time, hotel room,
meals, gas etc. You also lose at least two weeks of production time.

Wendy Rosen announced via e-mail today that she is starting an on-line site
as well ... no prices announced yet. But she is pushing it by promoting how
easy it is for everyone ...buyers and artists. You can call for more info at
800-642-4314.

Be aware that you are missing a huge potential audience if you do not at
least look into the internet. It is a tool you can use in whatever fashion
works for you.

Chris is right about my flippant reference to the price of Philly vs the
price of wholesalecrafts.com.
YOu can count on clayart to point out mistakes.
My point is that businesess will still go to Wendy's show to meet the artist
and see the pieces and establish relationships. I remember seeing Chris's
work there.
I think that if you don't go to one of these major shows it will take a
long time on the web to establish the same kind of business that you can get
in person. Maybe it will take 3 years on line to do the business that one
year of Philly will generate. It's a crap shoot either way.
I also think our business is still personal. Retailers want to say
something to their
customers about the artist. They go back time and again to renew
relationships and even freindships.
For the potter - There you are in the Potters' getto among some 300 potters
from
all over the country, very cool very instructional.
