help with ancient japanese pottery

I need the name of a Japanese pottery style, or a Japanese
name of a Chinese style pottery, for translation I'm doing.

The style should be 8th to 10th century, a three-color pottery (sancai)
influenced by Tang sancai. The first character means "alternative, choice"
and in Chinese is "nai4", while the second means "good, superior" and
is pronounced "liang2" in Chinese. It seems to be a Nara period ware,
perhaps Nara sancai? I BS'ed the characters below.....

Thanks,

Michael Turton

Michael A. Turton,
you are right. the two characters you showed after your name pronounce as
"na ra". that's the nara of Nara period. three color pottery is "san sai"
(in japanese).

Those characters are pronounced "Nara" in Japanese.
