Hi all,

I know this is short notice but there have been two cancellations in a
Masters Throwing Workshop being held January 4-7, Thursday through Sunday,
at Hood College in Frederick, Maryland. Joyce Michaud, who will be one of
the speakers at NCECA this March, will be the instructor.

This will be an intensive hands-on workshop, for intermediate and advanced
potters, and will focus on advanced throwing skills. Designed to build
skills and refine technique, the workshop will cover concepts crucial to
structural strength, including throwing exercises to increase efficiency and
master level throwing skills. Bring your tools and 150 lbs. of the clay you
are currently using (if you are not using earthenware you will need your own
slip bucket. A selection advanced tools will be available for
experimentation. The price of the workshop is $198 and will take place in
the ceramics studio, room 2 in Tatem Arts Center at Hood. If you need
directions to Hood College, go to
http://www.hood.edu/artdept/text/ceramics.html.

I've taken this workshop before -- I'm no master by anyone's measure, but I
wanted to learn, and I did; I left worn out but happy and with a lot of
information. Joyce is knowledgeable, experienced, patient and encouraging.

Again, I apologize for bringing this to the list with so little squirm-time,
but hope someone can use the information.

Hope to see some of you there,
Marlene
