Cheryl Hanley was asking who works with crystalline glazes

Hi Cheryl,

I'm enamored of macrocrystalline glazes and am getting reasonable results at
firing #8 at cone 6. I suggest you absorbe Diane Greber

Thank you

The website doesn't show any crystalline work. I retail it in my own store or
sell it to a few select shops that I wholesale to.
There is a good book that is a "must have" by Diane Creber called Crystalline
Glazes. Most anything you need to know will be there.
I will be happy to discuss anything that I know with you.

I work with them on a regular basis and have a help page related to
them, I think it's off my potters tips page. You might find more
results when searching if you spell it crystalline, which is apparently,
though unintuitively, correct.

Hello Ilene!
You don't know how much you will pay for the mail! I bought some materials
from U.K. and U.S.A. I can assure you that the post office made more money
than the suppliers!
All commercial glazes cost much, in crystalline the point, as I find it more
in the knowledge of when and how much to soak and less in relatively simple
recipe.
I add here a recipe I got from my good adviser Yehuda koren. He told me to
fire to 1260C to drop to 1110C and soak 7 hours. Results where poor, but I
still see him as my good adviser!
Feldspar potash (ours Norwegian) 50
quartz ....................................... 20
Zinc........................................... 25
whiting.........................................20
There is something in this glaze, I definitely did not find the light in
firing that high!
