Bon jour mon Ami,
Silicon Carbide is used as a heating element material in high =
temperature electric furnaces.
I recall my Dad was responsible for the maintenance of several High =
Frequency Electric Furnaces long before Microwaves came onto the =
scene.(Had radar even been invented then?)
These were used to melt special alloy steels. Used water cooled coils. I =
wonder if this process would work with high metal element content =
ceramics?
Had a dream about my new electric kiln which was environmental friendly. =
Cause minimal emissions. Powered by a DC generator. High efficiency. =
Woke up exhausted from pedalling to keep the generator going.
Ivor.
