College. Mary has been a visiting artist and lecturer at many schools
and craft centers around the US. Her work has been shown extensively in
this country and abroad and she is represented in many public and
private collections.

Of her work Mary says "Making pots enables me to participate with the
work of my hands in an ancient human conversation. My pots come out of
my own ideas about food, elegance and generosity. It thrills me that
they go on to lead lives of their own, to inhabit other spaces, fit
other hands and fulfill other ideas about the useful and the special.

The Florida Potters Guild is an organization run by graduate and
undergraduate students in the Ceramics Department in the School of Art & Art
History at the University of Florida. The organization contributes to the
education provided in the ceramics department by sponsoring workshops by
nationally known presenters, providing scholarship funds for students to attend
professional conferences and by purchasing equipment for the clay
studio. The organization is funded through pottery sales with assistance
from the University student government.
