My daughter and her husband planned to honeymoon in Turkey last =
November. The State Department put out a warning that there were =
serious terrorist threats against Americans, and advising against travel =
to Turkey unless absolutely necessary. [Because of this, the airline =
refunded their $$.] Maybe your friend should check to see if this is =
still in effect! =20

hi jan,
i am a turkish and greek ceramic artist. i am originally from istanbul and i
am living in vancouver, bc. lonely planet's turkey guide is very useful for
a foreigner. cappadocia is a very interesting pottery village - anatolian
civilization is one of the first settlments in the world and hitits created
the potters wheel there. kutahya is another city that is famous with it's
colored tiles like iznik. you also have recieved very useful emails from
clayartists, plus museum of anatolian civilization in ankara is an amazing
place to see. your friend can also be a little disapointed with turistic
pottery there, but the best way to travel eastern world is to be able to see
the beauty that is hidden in caos, and is visible only for the ones that
listen and follow their hearts.. which is a jurney into dervish's mind.

your friend can also contact my studio friends in ankara " atelye camurdan"

if you have any question, you or your friend can always contact me..
take care..
