I'm not asking for a recipe, here, just a name under which I might search the archives and find one. (I've been looking with no luck.) I am making gargoyle head whistles, and would like something that would
turn them kind of a greyish-tan stone color, matt or semi-matt. I fire cone 6 oxidation and it needs to be something nontoxic enough to put your lips on and blow. If you know of the perfect one, please
send me the name and I'll go track it down! primalmommy@ivillage.com
Thanks...Kelly in Ohio

Hi Kelly,
Mark and I do a lot with gargoyles and dragons and we use a combination of
low fire glazes to get a great looking effect. We use Mayco Desert Moss and
Mayco Mountain Mist either mixed half and half or just by themselves. They
are an semi opaque/semi matte so it really looks good together. Good Luck
